Slow motion golf swing analyzer on iPhone.
Most swing changes happen too quickly to judge at full speed. SwingDraw gives golfers a slower review workflow: move frame by frame, draw the checkpoint, compare clips, and keep notes from the range session.
Why slow motion review matters
A golf swing can hide the important detail in a fraction of a second. Setup, takeaway, transition, impact, and finish all deserve different frames. Slow motion and frame-by-frame controls help you inspect the movement instead of guessing from one full-speed replay.
That does not mean every swing needs a complicated diagnosis. The best review is focused: one camera angle, one checkpoint, one comparison, and a short note about what you were practicing.
Playback speed and frame arrows
Open a saved clip from Library. In the single-video editor, the speed slider runs from 0.1× to 2× in 0.1× steps; 1× is normal playback. Pause and use the previous/next frame arrows for a closer look at a checkpoint. The separate comparison view offers 0.25×, 0.5×, 1×, and 2×.
The editor seeks by an estimated frame interval, using the detected video rate when available and a 1/30-second fallback otherwise. The comparison arrows use 1/30-second steps. With imported high-frame-rate or already slowed footage, a step is therefore not a promise to visit every original camera frame. Playback speed is relative to the imported file’s timeline.
When slowing the video does not help
A slower replay cannot recover detail already lost to motion blur, a hidden club, or a poorly framed recording. If impact remains a blur, improve the light and record another short test. Use a manual reference only where the underlying frame is clear enough to interpret.
A simple iPhone workflow
- Record or import the swing. Use the range clip you already have, or record a new session in SwingDraw.
- Slow the clip down. Step through the swing until the checkpoint is visible.
- Draw only what matters. Mark shaft plane, head position, hand path, hip line, shoulder tilt, or another lesson checkpoint.
- Save the practice context. Add tags, notes, club metadata, and favorites so the clip is useful later.
- Compare progress. Put the clip next to an older swing or a later swing so the change is visible.
What to look for frame by frame
Use slow motion for specific questions: Did the head drift? Did the club move above or below the intended path? Did posture change through impact? Did the new drill change the takeaway? If the question is clear, the frame you need is usually easier to find.
SwingDraw also supports AI body tracking, head stability, swing path review, angle measurements, and side-by-side comparison. Those tools are most useful when they support a visible question rather than replacing your judgment.
No recurring swing-review bill
SwingDraw is a one-time purchase with no subscription, no ads, and no in-app purchases. It is built for golfers who want a practical video review tool on iPhone and iPad, not a cloud coaching platform they have to keep paying for.
