Printable checklist
A filming checklist for a useful golf swing review
Keep the camera view consistent, capture the whole motion, choose one checkpoint, and share an annotated review. A printable checklist for golfers and coaches.
- Ask which view helps. Choose the camera view with your coach or the person reviewing the swing. Frame the golfer and the club through the motion; a close crop can hide the position you want to inspect.
- Keep the camera steady. Use a stable support and useful lighting. Keep people out of the practice area and place the camera where it will not interfere with a swing or another golfer.
- Make two clips comparable. Keep camera position, height, distance, orientation, and zoom consistent between attempts. A different view can make a similar movement look different.
- Choose one question. Name the checkpoint you want to review, such as address, the top of the backswing, or impact. A coach’s interpretation is more useful than treating every overlay as a diagnosis.
- Line up the same moment. Step through both clips and compare the same point in the motion. Add one clear line, angle, or note. Camera perspective affects apparent angles, and overlays are visual references rather than precise 3D measurements.
- Send the context with the clip. Export an annotated frame or video and include the checkpoint, camera view, and question. Get permission before sharing another person’s footage. Students can watch a normal exported video without buying the app.
The app provides visual references for reviewing your footage. It is not a launch monitor or a remote coaching platform, and it does not replace a coach’s interpretation. Filming perspective, framing, and source quality affect the review.
